One Out of Two is a Start

The month of April was supposed to be a Month of experiments I had two tings I was going to do: (1) Not go to Panera’s and drink cafe’ mocha and get a newspaper. I was supposed yo put that money in savings.  OOPS that didn’t happen, I went less but still didn’t put any aside for savings if it was a school assignment I probably would receive a “D-”.  (2) I was going to record all my expenditures for the month of April.  I did that and discovered that 25% of all the money spent was on those morning coffee shop stops and other eating out. I also discovered that just co-pay on the prescription drugs that my wife and I take was  another 25% of total expenditures.

We all fail at some of our big plans in life.  But just think where we would be if we never made any plans or had any dreams.

I’m going to keep trying to get off of the fancy coffee and start a savings account. What about you, what kind of struggles have you gone through only to stub your toe?  How did you get back up and try it again? I would love to hear some success stories.

  1. Still went to panera’s, huh?

How about trying to enjoy a nice cup of brewed coffee out in the backyard or porch. 25% is a pretty decent sum that could be allotted towards your savings or wealth building journey. Maybe try bringing it down to 20% or even 15% this month. We all know we can’t completely exclude going out, but we can curb it down.

Wish you luck and hard work! :)

  2. great idea except I’m a bit of a social animal, it’s not the coffee but the people that draws me to the coffee shop…any idea about how to deal with that?

  3. I wish I did have an idea. I will have to think about that one.
