KEEPING THE BALANCE:
While trying to get your financial house in order and going further than you have ever gone before you need to stay focused on “God’s Will”.
Question # 10
Romans 12:3 ” For I say unto you through the grace that is given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
Christians need to remember that it’s not about how strong or weak you are but about how willing Almighty God is to sustain you regardless of your ability.
Question # 9
What is missing in your life ‘right now’?
As a Christian who understands what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ I find it real difficult to come up with ‘anything’ that I would consider is missing from my life. God has taught me to be satisfied.
But still I understand that as a Christian I could do more for my Lord if I had more financial means. So I guess it would be alright to say that what’s missing right now is the where with all to go and do whatever I want to with regards to mission trips and providing specific needs for those less fortunate. It would be pretty good to not have to limit the time I would spend doing this.
Question # 8
If You No Longer HAD to Work What Wold You Be Doing With Your Time? When Do You Want to Start Doing It?
Exodus 20:9 “Six days you shall labor and do all your work” is part of the ten commandments and leads up to the “Remember the sabbath day and keep it Holy. It’s pretty easy to determine that God intended for us to work, not everything is given to us and for most people there will never come a time when they have earned all they’ll ever need.
The Christian Perspective of this question is pretty simple, there will never will come a time when we really don’t “have” to work, it’s just not in God’s plan for our life.
Question # 7
What is Stopping You From Doing Things differently?
II Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. I guess the bottom line for a lot of Christians is the fact that they are afraid of trying to be all they can be for fear of failure. Not to mention the reality that all too many times they try to do all the wrong things.
Which is more important to do, being somebody with a whole lot of something or being all that “God” wants you to become. ?
Question # 6
If You Can Do Things Differently, What Would You Be Doing in 5 Years? In 10 years? In 20 years?
Scripture tell us in Matthew 6: 31-33 “Therefore do not worry, saying ‘what shall we eat or drink or what shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. Your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these tings. BUT SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM and all the other things will be added to you.”
The Christian Perspective of this question is to remember to balance your wants and desires with the fact that God is ready to meet every need you have if you would only obey Him in all that you do. PSALM 37:4 again tells us to delight ourselves in the Lord and he will GIVE US THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART.
Question # 5
If You Had Done Things Differently, What Would You Be doing Right Now?
Philippians 4:11 “Not that I speak in respect of want; for have I learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
First things first, this isn’t talking about Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico or Washington State it’s talking about a “condition” or “situation”. When a person has a relationship with Christ that is strong it leads to a positive outlook in everything that goes on in his or her life. It makes no difference if you had done things one way or the other it simply means that you don’t live under the circumstances of your life, you live above them.
In response to the question above, If I had done things differently, I don’t have a clue where I would be. Another scripture that comes to mind that I think also relates to this question is: Matthew 6:34 “Take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow wil take care of itself…”. This simply means that as a believer I am bound to trusting God even in the midst of doing what needs to be done.
Question # 4
What Do You Dream About? What Do You Daydream About?
PSALM 37:4 “Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Historically those who have done great things for God have been dreamers, visualizing themselves on mountain tops and winning great wars and creating great ministries all for God and “His” glory. As a commentary on the above scripture, when we delight God our desires change to fit His plan and calling for our lives.
We should be constantly we evaluating and re-evaluating our desires to make sure that our goals in life are “His” goals and not “ours”.
OBAMA & Me
Sure I am having problems seeing the “unification factor” kicking in but you know what? As a Christian there are some things I need to consider:
1. Life isn’t about me.
2. It’s God that unites people not man or his abilities.
3. I must trust in God and him only.
4. I need to see things through God’s eyes and not mine.
5. I need to anticipate God’s ability and stop worrying about man’s inability.
6. It’s up to me to do my part.
QUESTION #3
How Would You Like To (One Day) Be Able To Describe Your Life To Your Grand Children?
The greatest thing you have to offer your grand children is influence. What you “tell” them now may or may not have anysignificance in their life but how you “live” out that life does. From a “Christian Perspective” the greatest description you can give of yourself to your grand children is not a description about you, but a description about the God who lives “in” you.
While we will do well to tell them about our successes and failures and goals in life we need to make sure that we put them in perspective. Young impressionable minds need to understand that our lives are not about “what we have” but about “who’s we are” and that through a personal relationship with the God of all creation directing our every decision we are indeed able to do anything we desire.
QUESTION # 2
What Are the Things You Value Most In Your Life Right Now?
Often you’ll find that a Christian’s value system is little different from that of a non-believer. More is to be considered than just what you desire and want and what other people think about you. The idea of WWJD or “What Would Jesus Do?” carries with it a lot of truth for those who want to be in God’s will in all they do.
From a Christian Perspective things I value most can’t be obtained by increasing my pay check. What I value most in life right now is how I live my life, daily trusting God, being a good witness to other people. I value my relationships with specific people, like my family and those I look up and I value hard work and honesty.
QUESTION #1
What Do Your Want Your Future To Be Like?
This question from a Christian perspective could get deep, that is if you get really confused about it. But the truth is believers probably can come to grips with answering this question better than nonbelievers.
As a Christian I want my future to be like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I want to be able to to anything I so desire when I desire to do it. Did you notice the key word? “Desire”?
Seripture says in Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the ‘desires’ of your heart.” Pretty cool isn’t it? But wait, if you go back and look at that same scripture in context you’ll notice some other very critical things, things that make a great difference.
Psalm 37:1-8
verse 1 says to neither FRET THYSELF because of evildoers nor to be ENVIOUS of them.
verse 3 says TRUST IN THE LORD and do good…
verse 4 says DELIGHT THYSELF in the lord
verse 5 says COMMIT THY WAY unto the Lord and TRUST in him also.
verse 7 says REST IN THE LORD and WAIT PATIENTLY…
verse 8 says CEASE FROM ANGER and forsake wrath.
So what do I want my future to be like? I really want my future to be an absolute total delight to God.
