8 Things People “REALLY” Want.
This web site isn’t about what people want, it’s about what they “really” want.
8 Things People “Really Want”
1. People Really Want Freedom to be and do whatever they desire. Freedom however has a cost to it. It cost us doing all we can to be the best we can, therein lies the problem most people want the freedom to “not do all they can” some folks call it laziness.
2. People Really Want Peace in their heart, mind, body and soul. Peace comes from being at ease with what goes on around us. We worry about our feelings and what others think of us, we worry about not being the best at what we do, we worry about not having everything that everyone else has…We worry.
3. People Really Want Happiness which comes from being content or satisfied with that they have and with who they are. Too many people use someone else as the standard for their own happiness, measuring themselves against other people.
4. People Really Want to be Of Value The desire to be wanted because we bring something to the table is a strong desire in any person. Even those who seem to be loners want to know that their life matters.
5. People Really Want a Challenge that will demonstrate that they abilities others don’t have.
6. People Really Want Others even if they want them to leave them alone. We are social animals and need the stimulus that interaction with others provide.
7. People Really Want Order in their lives so that they can make sense of things.
8. People Really Want to Believe in something bigger than they are, something that they can depend upon and trust.
No this is not the total list and I welcome anything you can add to it.

8 Keys to Changing Your Life
Everyone at one time or another desires to make changes in their life. Some people want to change for ever while others want to change just for a short time period. The problem is some folks don’t know how to go about making change. Here are 8 Keys to help you start to make the necessary change. (by the way this is only a partial list)
# 1. COMMITMENT is always the starting place. You will never effectively change if your aren’t committed to do it.
#2. VISUALIZE yourself changed it helps you to understand what you’ll look and act like once it happens.
#3. SET GOALS that are obtainable as stepping stones toward your final destination.
#4. GET A MENTOR who has been there and done that and is willing to give you direction and encouragement.
#5. KEEP A JOURNAL of your journey including your emotions. Record all activity regardless if it’s positive or negative this will help you measure your progress.
#6. WORK HARD remembering that no change comes easy. If it did everyone would be doing it.
#7. TAKE OTHERS WITH YOU for the best way to change is to help others change as well.
#8. TRUST GOD because without Him lasting change is impossible.
What other things do you believe to be Important Keys. I want to hear your comments and I might even add them to my list.

What Obama Needs
My last “Obama” post received more hits than any post I have ever written. Thanks to all of you who dared to make comments and let the world wide web see what you thought. You’ll notice if you read all of the comments that most of them agreed with what I said, some didn’t but that’s alright, that’s one of the reasons I wrote what I did. Hearing you comments encouraged me to continue posting my opinion.
I’m not finished with Mr Obama yet. I want to take a moment and make it perfectly clear that there is one thing and only one thing that will make a difference in the next four years. I’m talking about our President making wise, Godly decisions. I want to invite you to join me as a member of THE PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER TEAM located at www.presidentialprayerteam.org I have belonged to this for three years now and am very impressed with it.
President Obama’s success I believe will be directly related to how Christians life him up in prayer. Let me encourage you to become an active partner with me in praying on a regular basis.
So according to what the title of this post implies, “What Obama Needs” is the prayers of Christians all around the world. Will you be one?

Huck Finn & Ole Jim
I was watching an old Mark Twain movie the other day where Huck Finn was trying to help the slave Jim escape to freedom. Huck told some wild tales about him being the world’s youngest lion tamer and that Jim was the King of some imaginary country. I love Mark Twain because he make us dream.
Dreaming is simply going outside the perscribed box that people expect us to remain in. In order to gain great wealth we need to dream of what life would be like if there were no restrictions. Dreaming is a part of the success of any effort we find ourselve involved in, it’s the “I think I can, I think,” mentality that helps us reach greatness be it in wealth or fame.
This weeks question is about dreaming and the Christian perspective of what we desire the most.

OBAMA & Me
He’s our new President which means he’s mine as well but I have some strong feelings, or at least they’re strong for me. These feelings relate to this blog site in that they relate to “New life Support”.
With the historic election behind us we now are looking at an ever greater historic term of office. The claim is that President Obama will be able to “unite us” as a nation, call me a throw back to the 60’s if you want but I just don’t see any unification coming our way any time soon. While millions rushed to D.C. and I myself was one of the hundreds of millions glued to the T.V. set all day not because I was excited about “change” it was just the simple fact that I didn’t want to miss one of the most historic events of my life.
If you have ever been in a hospital room and seen man hooked up to a heart monitor and all the other medical stuff intended to keep the guy alive you probably like me wondered how all this stuff works. Bottom line is I don’t know it works but I sure hope it does. If it does it still doesn’t change the persons life, it just gives him another change to work on it.
SO BACK TO PRESIDENT OBAMA, I’m sorry but I don’t see the man having the ability to “unite our nation”. From where I stand I see more of the likelihood of a wider division. The division will come because we as a nation are a people so stuck on getting what “we” want that we will be unable to allow anyone else to possibly get what they want. We are also a nation hung up on what we “see” and like it or not a lot of people in the nation of ours will alsosee President Obama as a “black man”. Oh by the way those that see him that will will be from many different races.
Some people will disagree with me on this while other will understand exactly what I am saying and shout a hardy “Amen”. This blog site is intended to be interactive, so click on “comment” and let me know what you think about this. Also be sure to the look at the “Christian perspective” page for further comments of my own.

Decide Daily
The Kind of Life You Always Your Wanted
One of the greatest requirements needed to live the kind of life you always wanted is to never give up. This is also one of the most “difficult” things you’ll do. Your mind will play all kinds of games with you, one day you are sure what you want the next day you’ll wonder why you wanted that. One moment you think you need this the next moment you’ll think that. But the biggest problem you’ll deal with is the real issues of just not seeing yourself as successful. You’ll try to live in the past or the future (reality is you need to live in the present)
Living in the present for me means that every day and sometimes several times a day you need to decide again and again that this is what you want. Determine a goal and stick with it, never give up. Dream the same dream daily or at least dream dreams that head you in the same direction. Determine to not be side tracked by those around you who have no ability to dream.
Here is a quick basic daily checklist to live by until you reach your goal:
[ X ] Decide Daily that your goal is attainable.
[ X ] Decide Daily to not let others talk you out of your goal.
[ X ] Decide Daily that you will never give up.
[ X ] Decide Daily to learn from yesterdays failures.

Welcome
“5 Ways to Keep Your Resolutions”
#1 Be Sensible about the resolution you make in the first place. Way too many people use this idea of resolution making as a time to try and make “major” changes in their lives. The truth is most people set themselves up for failure by making the resolution unreachable.
#2 Have a Plan that is workable, making sure you can divide it up into bite size pieces that will insure your ability to fulfill your resolution.
#3 Work the Plan by taking specific steps to see to it that you are moving toward success. If you have an idea of how to succeed don’t be afraid to try it. #4 Devise a Way To Measure Your Success that you can stand back and enjoy the possibility that you might just be able to keep this resolution after all.
#5 Enlist Some Help from positive people who believe in you. Resolutions are best kept if we have encouragement and support.
